Abstract

Fawaz A. Gerges, a professor of International Relations at the London School of Economics and founder of the Middle East Center, aims to explain how the conflict between Islamism and Arab nationalism shaped post-colonial Arab politics in his book titled Making the Arab World: Nasser, Qutb, and the Clash That Shaped the Middle East, which he describes as a continuation of his studies on Arab politics and social movements in the Middle East.
