BOOK REVIEW: The New Art of War

Abstract

The book "The New Art of War" by French researcher Gérard Chaliand is primarily a conjunctural product of a period when the effects of the Iraq invasion led by the USA were intensely felt all over the world. The book addresses issues such as colonization, anti-colonial movements, and guerrilla wars with historical depth. Rather than a theoretical perspective, Chaliand bases his rich analysis of the war phenomenon on historical practice.
